The Maritzburg College Foundation has, for a while, coordinated a successful Care Package programme aimed at adding that special extra “something” to the College experience for our Boarders who are far from home. Our hope is that it will make their College experience a bit more special!
Old Boys, parents and supporters have, over the years, supported our Care Package programme, as we match them with a College Boarder in need. The quarterly care packages are coordinated and delivered at the start of each term and are put together by the Foundation and paid for by the benefactor.
Items provided in the care pack (to the value of R850) include personal hygiene items like showergel, toothpastes and deodorants as well as much enjoyed sweets, biscuits, and juice. Terms can seem long, especially for boys who spend most of their weekends in the BE, so having extra necessary items as well as treats to share with your #RedBlackWhite brothers make any homesick College Boarder feel heaps better. A bit of Home away from Home!
With the support of our generous care pack donors, we handed out the Term 2 2023 Care Packs to 12 of our boarders who were very happy to receive them! These special boxes really do make the long term in boarding (especially weekends) just better, especially with exams looming! Thank you to our generous donors once again!
