This year our Giving Day campaign focused in calling on the wider College community around the globe to join us in celebrating the rich heritage and enduring traditions of Maritzburg College. As the school continues to perform at the highest levels in all areas, we reached out and invited everyone to be part of our exciting Giving Day campaign. Our 24-hour Giving Day campaign ran from September 3rd – 4th 2024, and this year, thanks to your amazing support, we raised over R1.3M. The event had a further impact and encouraged a further R1.2 million in donations from abroad to be invested in the ever-growing Endowment Fund.
This year we called on each of the Forms to unite in a competition to see who could raise the most money! Our newest 2nd Form parents stepped up and excelled, raising over R100 000! As a reward their boys were treated to free zarms.
Once again, we called on our 2025 pupil leadership team of acting prefects to also play a role in reaching out to donors around the world. Their creativity and ingenuity were exceptional and saw many of our Old Collegians step forward to support the event, as a result of their interaction with the boys!
All the funds raised will enable Maritzburg College to continue to provide exciting opportunities and secure a legacy of excellence for generations of boys in KZN, if not South Africa!
