College Headmaster, Chris Luman, and Deputy-Headmaster, Matthew Marwick have both signed up as donors to the 100MillionForCollege Campaign. Thank you gentlemen for your generous support!
The success of our 100MillionForCollege Campaign has always been embedded in the fact that this is a community appeal and needs to be endorsed by all our stakeholders and supporters. The leadership at Maritzburg College understands this all too well and have not only pledged their support as ambassadors and advocates for the campaign but have now committed their financial support to it as well.
Most schools would welcome the opportunity to be able to design their own future. This is our moment. Our rubicon. This initiative will ensure that College remains relevant and continues to change lives and shape futures for generations to come.
The goal of the 100MillionForCollege Campaign is entirely focussed on securing the future of the school. With an endowment fund of this size and a second stream income derived from the returns on this investment, Maritzburg College will be able to successfully plan for its future and implement those initiatives that support the strategic goals and objectives of the school.
The campaign itself is based on a “matching donor” principle where a growing group of Legacy Donors, each pledging R1m to the campaign, will match each Rand raised through the College community on a Rand-for-Rand basis, thereby effectively doubling each donation!
Added to this the tax benefit of being able to submit the S18A donation certificate with one’s annual tax return and it makes for a compelling argument in favour of helping shape Maritzburg College’s future through this campaign.
Giving options have been tiered in a selection of categories that make it possible for each College supporter to pledge their support at a level that is manageable for them. Once-off, annual or monthly giving options are available.
